Posh Review (2026): Live Receptionists by the Minute, Month to Month

Posh puts live receptionists on your phones around the clock, month to month, with every plan price published. The bill is per minute, rounded up, and includes the receptionist's wrap-up time. The cheapest plan includes no minutes at all, and Posh keeps nothing for you after you leave.

Verdict at a glance

Recommended for

Solos and small firms that want live 24/7 human answering, month to month, at published prices.

Bottom line

Most small firms should start at Vogue ($130/mo, 50 minutes) or above; Chïc ($65) includes zero minutes. Pay by ACH or debit to avoid the 3% card surcharge, port in your own number, and export your data before cancelling.

A reasonable live-answering choice for solos and small firms that want people, not AI, on the phone without a long contract. Model your real minutes including wrap-up time, skip the zero-minute plan unless you get almost no calls, and download your call records before you cancel.

Not for

High-volume or long-call intake operations, and firms that need their call data kept after they leave.

Quick answer

Bottom line: Posh is for solos and small firms that want live people, not AI, answering 24/7 without a long contract. Seven published plans run from $65 to $1,900 a month, month to month (vendor claims checked October 15, 2026), and the free trial lasts 7 days or 250 minutes, whichever comes first. The trap: billing is per minute, rounded up, including the receptionist's after-call work; the $65 plan includes zero minutes; Posh can change pricing at any time; fees are non-refundable; and after you cancel, Posh deletes your data and won't send it to you, so export first.

What you get: receptionists answer, screen and transfer calls, take messages, and can make outbound "Assist" calls for you. Pay by ACH or debit to avoid the 3% card surcharge.

What does Posh actually do?#

  • Live answering, 24 hours a day, by Posh's own receptionists.
  • Screening and transfers to you or your staff, and messages when nobody's available.
  • "Assist" outbound calls: ask a receptionist to make a call on your behalf.
  • Texts and chats, billed as receptionist work time.
  • A mobile app, web portal, and integrations.

Posh markets to law firms but serves businesses of every kind, so it isn't built around legal intake workflows. Its terms also mention an AI agent option; confirm with Posh what that covers and how it's billed if it interests you.

What this means for you: Chïc is a $65 access fee with every minute at $2.30. At about 28 minutes a month, Chïc and Vogue cost the same, and above that Vogue wins. Once wrap-up time is counted, most firms will pass 28 billable minutes a month, so treat Vogue as the practical starting plan.

To size your plan, take your monthly call count, multiply by your average call length plus a minute or so for the receptionist to finish the message, and round each call up to the next whole minute. Then compare plans on that number, not on calls.

What are Posh's terms?#

  • Month to month. Service continues until you send written cancellation; it ends on the last day of the current billing cycle. Posh can end service on 30 days' notice, or immediately at its discretion (for example, if your ads cause a call spike or callers are abusive).
  • Per-minute billing, rounded up, from pickup until transfer or voicemail, plus after-call time spent completing your information. Assist calls bill for review, call, and follow-up time.
  • Pricing can change at any time, per the terms, and term changes take effect when posted.
  • No refunds, including on early termination.
  • 3% surcharge on credit cards; none on debit or ACH.
  • Data is deleted after termination. Posh says it won't restore or send data from terminated accounts unless you have a custom agreement.
  • Assigned numbers aren't yours. Posh can change a number it assigned you.
  • Subpoenas. You agree Posh may respond to subpoenas without contesting them.

Because Posh can respond to subpoenas without contesting them, think about what callers tell the receptionist. Keep the script to contact details and a short reason for the call rather than the substance of a legal problem.

How hard is Posh to set up?#

Low. Posh says setup takes 24 to 48 hours: you provide your greeting, call-handling instructions, and transfer rules, then forward your line. Use the trial to call in with your three most common scenarios and check the messages you get back.

What do users say about Posh?#

Users generally praise Posh's professional call handling and detailed messages. Common complaints are billing surprises (especially on the zero-minute entry plan), receptionists not always following scripts, slower support after onboarding, and limited integrations. During the trial, call your own line during the trial at odd hours and judge how the receptionists handle a nervous, rambling caller.

Pros and cons#

Pros

  • Live 24/7 receptionists.
  • Published prices, month to month.
  • Generous trial and fast setup.
  • Outbound Assist calls.

Cons

  • Rounded-up per-minute billing, including wrap-up time.
  • Zero-minute entry plan.
  • No data after termination.
  • 3% card surcharge and pricing that can change at any time.

Ruby is the best-known live receptionist service, also billed by the minute; compare its current plans and rounding rules directly. Smith.ai mixes AI and human receptionists with legal intake and practice management integrations. Answering Legal is built for law firms specifically. Posh's case is price and flexibility: published tiers, month to month.
