Verdict at a glance

Recommended for

Immigration firms that research and draft petitions and briefs regularly.

Bottom line

Count your monthly drafts (Pro wins at two or more), ask whether unused drafts roll over, confirm paralegal licensing, and verify every research answer and draft before filing.

A focused immigration AI with unusually strong data terms. Pick the plan by how many petitions and briefs you draft a month, remember it's an annual commitment with no refunds, and have an attorney verify every output.

Not for

Non-immigration practices and very occasional users, given the annual commitment.

Pricing from

$220/month per license, billed annually; drafts $150 each on Core (visalaw.ai/pricing, checked 2026-10-15)

Pros

  • Research over a curated immigration dataset including BIA decisions (visalaw.ai)
  • Translation, document analysis, and 100+ automations (visalaw.ai)
  • No training on your data by Visalaw or its model providers (visalaw.ai/platform-agreement)
  • Data returned or deleted at your election at the end (visalaw.ai/platform-agreement)

Cons

  • Billed annually; no refunds (visalaw.ai/pricing; platform agreement)
  • Drafting is metered: $150 per draft on Core (visalaw.ai/pricing)
  • Rollover of unused Pro drafts not stated
  • Overage beyond ordered capacity billed extra (visalaw.ai/platform-agreement)

Quick answer

Bottom line: Visalaw.ai is for immigration firms that research and draft petitions and briefs regularly. Visalaw.ai lists Core at $220 and Pro at $480 per license per month, billed annually, with Enterprise by quote (vendor claims, checked October 15, 2026). We found no free trial on the pricing page, so confirm with Visalaw.ai. The trap: it's an annual commitment with no refunds, Core drafts cost $150 each, and neither the pricing page nor the agreement says whether unused Pro drafts roll over.

What this means for you: count your monthly drafts before choosing a plan, and ask Visalaw.ai in writing about rollover before you sign.

What it does: research and chat over a curated immigration dataset including BIA decisions, document analysis, summaries, translation, 100+ automations, projects and tasks, and case management integration. Petition and brief drafting is metered: Pro includes 10 drafts a month. Its platform agreement says neither Visalaw nor its model providers train on your data.

What are Visalaw.ai's terms?#

  • No training. Visalaw won't train AI models on your data or content, inputs or outputs, and neither will its third-party model providers. Subprocessors other than cloud storage won't keep or log your data for human review.
  • Data stays in your tenant. Your tenant is your firm's own walled-off space in the service. The agreement says matter-level content stays there, and only operational metadata (usage data, not case content) is used, in de-identified form.
  • Exit. At the end, your data is returned or deleted at your choice, with deletion certified on request.
  • No refunds for fees paid. Prices can change for the next period with 30 days' notice.
  • Overage beyond the capacity on your order is billed extra.

How hard is Visalaw.ai to set up?#

Low. Test it on real matters before committing: run research questions you already know the answers to and compare drafts against your own. Under ABA Formal Opinion 512, you remain responsible for checking AI output before relying on it.

What do users say about Visalaw.ai?#

Independent feedback is limited, so treat this as a tentative read. Attorneys generally report faster research and drafting, though the strongest time-savings claims come from the vendor's own customer stories. Reviewers also note that outputs still need careful attorney checking. Don't confuse it with Visto.ai, a separate immigration practice management product.

Pros and cons#

Pros

  • Immigration-specific sources.
  • Translation and automations included.
  • Strong no-training commitment.
  • Clear data return or deletion.

Cons

  • Annual, non-refundable.
  • Metered drafting.
  • Rollover unclear.
  • Overage charges.

How does Visalaw.ai compare with Docketwise, LollyLaw, and CoCounsel?#

Docketwise and LollyLaw are immigration case management systems with forms; Visalaw.ai integrates with case management rather than replacing it. CoCounsel is a general legal AI assistant without an immigration-specific dataset.
